Modern Fairytale Wedding Mood Board and Drawing Inspiration from Travels
I wanted to share some of the inspiration behind my Modern Fairytale wedding invitation suite for Elli.com and announce that there is now a coordinating save the date. The concept for this design started with patterns inspired by all the beautiful wrought ironwork in Buenos Aires, Argentina. During our travels there several summers ago I took hundreds of photos of the ornate designs created in doors, window screens and monuments. When creating the concept for these wedding designs, I sorted through the photos I had taken and also pulled romantic inspiration from around the web. The mood board above shows the essence of this research, highlighting nude and blush hues as well as scrolling decorative elements and arches. I find the swirling ironwork so romantic and feminine, that I thought it would lend itself perfectly to wedding designs.
